The Department of Justice in Ireland has recently announced that the five-year multi-entry short-stay visa option will be extended to all visa-required countries. This visa option will allow eligible applicants from all visa-required countries to apply for the visa once, which is particularly useful for those who visit Ireland regularly for business or family reasons. If granted, the visa will be valid for five years and cover multiple trips to Ireland.
Previously, Ireland only offered one, two, and three-year multi-entry visas, with a five-year option only available to Chinese passport holders as of 2019. However, the Irish authorities have now opened up the five-year multi-entry visa option to all visa-required countries.
It is worth noting that some business travelers who have not previously visited Ireland may also be eligible for a multi-entry visa, subject to certain conditions. This type of visa permits the holder to visit Ireland multiple times during the dates indicated on the visa.
While the new multi-entry visa option is now available to all visa-required countries, it’s important to remember that the approval of a multi-entry visa is at the discretion of the relevant Visa Officer. Additionally, the standard single-entry visa option remains available for those who prefer or require it.
